The year Underway!!

Hello Rockers and Rollers,

Im just back from a wild time in the city that never sleeps, New York.

Thanks to Earl Dax, I had some wonderful performance opportunities. I MC-ed Weimar New York at Joe’s pub and the Bard College Hunter Valley River Spiegeltent for two hot nights, hosting a group of New Yorks finest talents, sharing the stage with the one and only Justin Vivian Bond.

On my last night in New York, I performed a rock set with the formidable Joey Arias, we blew the roof off of that iconic venue. It was a thrill to finally play Joe’s Pub. Rockers like Patti Smith, Amy Winehouse and Bjork have played the venue. I was in my element. To top it all off, the icon, star and creator of Hedwig and The Angry Inch- John Cameron Mitchel walks in backstage after the gig to say ‘Hi’. I was blown away by that and he wanted to know why I hadn’t played Hedwig Yet? Get that!!!! Another wonderful surprise that was meeting Michael Alago, the record producer. Michael produced Nina Simone’s last album. New York the city of dreams.

Also got to play a gig at Pangea on 2nd Avenue for the wondrous Carol Lipnik in the East Village.

As for my home, Australia, well…. I am about to return to my favourite Aussie city- Melbourne to perform for one night only at the Glen Eira Town Hall on Saturday the 29th of August, accompanied by the talented Mister Boris Conley on piano. The last time I played that venue, back in 2010, it was a career highlight. No kidding!!! cant wait to do it again.

Early September finds me in New Zealand, playing the Auckland Cabaret Festival. It’s been far far too many years since I played the city of Auckland. I am accompanied by the groovy Alister Spence and a local band for the three nights there.

Iam also proud to announce that Iam one of the ambassadors for the Sydney Fringe 2015. I will take part in a panel for YOKE POPUP about Gender in Art and performance. Its a free event. Get amongst it Sydney, support local talents. Get out there. Be proud.

I am juggling with the idea of playing a single gig in Sydney this year, 2015. A one off rock gig… hmmmmmm. Keep looking here for updates.
